This policy explains what IssuePulse collects, why, and what choices you have. It covers two groups of people:

  • Creators: people who sign up for IssuePulse to collect feedback on their newsletter.
  • Readers: people who click an IssuePulse feedback link in a newsletter. Readers never create an account.

IssuePulse is operated by [legal entity to be confirmed] (“we”, “us”). Contact: hello@issuepulse.io.

What we collect about creators

Data Why
Name and email address To create your account, sign you in and contact you about the service
Password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text) To sign you in
Workspace handle, topics and link labels To run the service you set up
Issues you log: title, send date, link and whether it was sponsored To tie votes to the issue they came from and score it
Session records, including IP address and browser user agent To keep you signed in and protect your account

What we collect about readers

When a reader clicks a feedback link, we record:

  • The vote: which link was clicked, on which topic, and when. If the creator copied the link from one of their issues, which issue it came from.
  • An optional comment, if the reader chooses to write one.

We do not store the reader’s name, email address or IP address with a vote.

For topics that use the Embed format, the block includes a small image. When it loads we record:

  • The IP address and time of the open, and which issue it came from if the creator copied the block from one of their issues. We use the IP address to count one open per reader per topic within five minutes, and to filter out automated scanners.

Readers have no accounts, and the vote page does not set tracking cookies.

Who is responsible for reader data

For reader data, the creator who sent the newsletter decides why it is collected, and we process it on their behalf. If you are a reader and want to ask about your data, you can contact the newsletter’s creator or us.

How long we keep it

  • Creator account data: for as long as the account exists.
  • Votes, comments and open records: for as long as the topic exists. They are deleted when the creator deletes the topic or their account.
