Issues
Track each issue you send
Log a send, paste that issue's own links, and every vote is tied to the issue it came from.
Updated
A topic’s links tell you what readers think of a topic over time. An issue tells you how one particular send landed.
Add an issue
- Open Issues in the sidebar and choose Add issue.
- Give it a title. Add the send date, a link to the published issue, its main topic, and tick Sponsored issue if a sponsor paid for it. Only the title is required.
- You land on the issue’s page.
Paste the issue’s links
The issue’s page has a Links for this issue block. Pick a topic, choose a copy format, and copy the links as usual. Paste them into that issue instead of the topic’s own links.
They look the same to readers and behave the same way. The only difference is a short code at the end of each link (for example ?i=k3x9q2) that tells IssuePulse which issue the vote came from. Embed blocks copied from an issue also count their opens against it.
Every topic is available on every issue’s page, so an issue with three topics in its footer uses three blocks from the same page.
What you’ll see
- The issue’s votes, score, share of positive votes and embed opens.
- Which links readers clicked, per topic.
- The issue in the Issues list, with its score next to the others.
Good to know
- Links copied from a topic’s own page keep working exactly as before. Their votes count for the topic, just not for any issue.
- Deleting an issue doesn’t delete any votes. They stay on their topics, and links already sent with that issue keep recording votes.
- If an issue link is edited or damaged on the way, the vote still counts for the topic.
