Topics & links
Why can’t I change my topic’s URL?
A topic’s URL slug locks after its first vote, so links in issues you’ve already sent keep working.
Updated
A topic’s URL slug is the middle part of each link:
https://app.issuepulse.io/your-handle/ai-tools/f1
^^^^^^^^
You can edit it freely until the topic receives its first vote. After that it’s locked.
Why
Once a topic has a vote, at least one copy of its links is sitting in someone’s inbox. If the slug changed, every one of those links would stop working, and readers who clicked them would see an error instead of a thank-you page.
What you can still change
- The topic name (the slug doesn’t have to match it)
- Every link label
- The copy format
- 3 or 5 links
If you really need a different URL, create a new topic and use its links from your next issue on.
