Edit link labels

Rename any feedback link to fit your newsletter’s voice. Past votes stay attached.

Updated

Open a topic and edit it to change the label of any link. Labels can be up to 40 characters.

Some ideas:

  • “Loved this” → “Great read”
  • “Too long” → “TL;DR, sorry”
  • “More on this” → “Go deeper next week”

What changes and what doesn’t

  • The label changes on your dashboard and on the thank-you page readers see.
  • Past votes stay attached to the link, under its new name.
  • The URL behind the link never changes. Each link always ends in the same code (f1 to f5), so links already sitting in inboxes keep working after a rename.
  • The colour stays the same. Colours follow the link’s position, not its label.

Positive, neutral or negative

Next to each label is a setting that says what a vote on that link means: Positive, Neutral or Negative. It’s what issue scores are built from, so if you rename “Too long” to “Great read”, switch it to Positive too.

New topics start with “Loved this”, “Useful” and “More on this” as positive, and “Too long” and “Not relevant” as negative. A label you’ve written yourself starts as neutral until you choose.

If you’ve pasted labels as text into your newsletter (Linked, Markdown and Plain formats), copy the block again after renaming so future issues show the new labels.
